Job Challenge
Our design studio was recently presented with a truly inspiring challenge – to create a logo and website for a group of students studying at the Faculty of Economics in Switzerland. They develop a business model for their Master’s thesis. Their goal was to employ women from underdeveloped areas in India to produce handmade bags that would be sold on the website. Idea is to profits going back to the women to help them improve their economic status.
We were thrilled to be a part of this project, as it aligned with our values of social responsibility and sustainability. To begin, we conducted extensive research into the target audience and their values, as well as the culture and aesthetic of the Indian region where the women artisans were located.
We developed a brand identity that was modern and sleek, yet also conveyed a sense of warmth and handmade quality. The logo incorporated elements of both Indian culture and sustainable business practices, with a strong emphasis on empowering women.
In addition to the logo, we designed a website that was user-friendly and easy to navigate, while also effectively communicating the client’s mission and values. We used bright, bold colors and high-quality images of the handmade bags to showcase their beauty and craftsmanship. Also highlighting the positive impact that each purchase would have on the women artisans and their communities.
Overall, this project was a true highlight for our design studio, and we were proud to be a part of something that had such a positive impact on both the women artisans in India and the students’ Master’s thesis. We believe that design has the power to make a difference, and this project was a wonderful example of that.
